Crafting Dreams, Forging Reality
This was a project for a crypto exchange web3 application.

Kakeru

Project Overview

We were responsible for the end-to-end UX and UI design of Kakeru Finance, a DeFi web application focused on liquid staking, leverage, and lending on the Injective (INJ) blockchain. Our role included translating core DeFi functionalities—such as vault deposits, staking, rewards claiming, and real-time analytics—into a clear and intuitive user experience using Figma. We4 developed high-fidelity designs and a responsive layout system, optimized user flows for depositing/staking INJ and claiming rewards, and ensured consistency across dashboard components. Final deliverables included annotated Figma prototypes, design specs, and a component library for developer handoff.

UX/UI, Website Design

Discovery & Planning

  • Collaborated with the product owner and development team to understand core DeFi mechanics and user flows (staking, wrapping, claiming rewards).
  • Created a user journey map to visualize entry points from wallet connection to action completion.
  • Identified key KPIs to surface (TVL, APR, Claimable Rewards, Wallet Balance).

Wireframing & UX Flow

  • Created low-fidelity wireframes to map the dashboard layout, including:
    • Vault deposit flow
    • INJ staking module
    • Collateral vs. claimable states
    • Dynamic chart integration for token performance
  • Designed clear visual hierarchy using modular card layouts and call-to-action buttons.

UI Design

  • Developed a responsive, modern UI in Figma with a neutral background and bold action colors (e.g., red for "Withdraw", green for APR).
  • Designed consistent components: token cards, APR badges, dropdown selectors, and data tables.
  • Optimized empty states (e.g., 0 INJ balance) and action states (e.g., successful claim, pending stake).

Design System

  • Built a mini design system including:
    • Typography styles (headings, data labels, captions)
    • Color palette optimized for dark/light backgrounds
    • Token icons and branded assets
    • Reusable button and input components

Developer Handoff

  • Provided structured Figma files with labeled layers, component variants, and interaction notes.
  • Created documentation for conditional logic (e.g., button states, claim logic tied to wallet balance).
  • Supported devs post-handoff with responsive layout clarifications and design QA reviews.

Outcome

  • Successfully delivered a clean, intuitive dashboard experience for DeFi users navigating complex staking and vault interactions.
  • Design enabled devs to efficiently implement features with minimal confusion during build.
  • Project served as the foundation for future expansions, including mobile support and new staking assets.
