Walmart Associate Stock & Amazon DSPP Apps

Project Overview

Developed the Walmart Associate Stock and Amazon DSPP mobile apps for iOS and Android, allowing employees to access their plan shares, sell shares, and quickly view, download, and print tax forms and other documents. The Walmart Associate Stock app has garnered over 100k downloads on Google Play.

Objective

Served as Product Owner for a Scrum team, overseeing the design, development, and launch of the Walmart ASPP and Amazon DSPP mobile apps on both Apple’s App Store and Google Play. I created and managed the product backlog and roadmap, guiding the team's efforts throughout the process. Regularly met with the President of Plans Management to review and prioritize business requirements and feature development. I was actively involved in the creation of app designs, detailed logic flows, and host mapping documents.

Brand Identity

Collaborated closely with Walmart and Amazon's brand teams to ensure each app faithfully reflected the unique brand identity for their associates and employees.

User Experiene

Engaged with Walmart and Amazon's UX teams throughout the design and testing process to deliver a great user experience for associates with plan shares. As UX Manager, I directly led the design team and was hands-on in much of the design work.

Product Owner

As the Product Owner for the Scrum team, I led the project from inception to the successful launch of the Amazon DSPP mobile app in 2020. The team included a Scrum Master, BAs, Designers, Developers, and Testers.

Promotion

While serving as UX Team Lead and Product Owner, I kept key stakeholders, including the Head of Plans, regularly updated on progress, with bi-weekly meetings. I also created promotional videos to help Marketing understand our goals and to promote the app.

Results

The mobile apps were successfully launched one after the other, each maintaining a 4.5-star rating or higher, with over 80k downloads across platforms. My involvement was crucial in getting the Walmart Associate Stock app approved for distribution in the regular Apple App Store, despite Apple's initial insistence on restrictive distribution methods. This approval was essential for reaching a wide audience of employees.
